Calgary Public Library...
The World Lives Here.

Calgary’s new Central Library will set a standard for 21st century public libraries, creating a destination and community place for information, learning and culture.

The Challenge

In times of economic challenge and growing crime in the downtown core, the Central Library needed to garner public support as to why this is a worthy project for the City and the Province to take an interest in. That is a tall order to start with, then combine that with very low awareness that this project is even on the table. The CPL needed to not only make people aware, but to communicate why this is so important and how a development like this has affected other major cities around the world.

Customer Centric Solution

Create a bold statement that forces people to think about what kind of city they want to live in and where their own priorities really lie. A library is more than just a place for books, it is an idea centre. A place where people come together and explore new ideas and places. The campaign line "The World Lives Here. A Landmark Library for Calgary", embodies the big thinking that has become the vision for this project. Banner displays, advertising, brochures and a web site were used to communicate the goal and vision for this project.
